Greywater Treatment & Reuse

ECODEPUR® ECODOMUS® UV

The Ideal Solution for Residential Buildings (up to 6 inhabitants)

Technology designed and developed for domestic use.

Greywater Recycler System ECODEPUR® BIOX® DOMUS UV is intended for the collection and treatment of greywater (baths, showers, hand basins) in order to produce recycled water for non-potable uses such and flush toilets; irrigation and firefighting reserves.

BIOX ECODOMUS® 420 UV is ideal for residential buildings with up to six occupants and can also be used in rural tourism facilities, local accommodation, and office buildings, enabling the reuse of up to 420 litres of water per day for non-potable applications.

Legal and Regulatory Framework

The different SPRAC ECODEPUR®® BIOX ECODOMUS® systems and options are based on the technical specifications of ANQIP (Portuguese Association for the Quality of Building Installations), namely ANQIP Technical Specification ETA 0905, which establishes technical criteria for the implementation of greywater reuse and recycling systems (SPRAC), European Standard EN 16941-2 (Systems for the use of treated greywater).

  • Ease and flexibility of installation (underground or surface installation);
  • No immersed equipment - airlift technology;
  • In-line UV disinfection (no chemicals added);
  • Integrated storage corresponding to 50% of the daily volume of recycled water, in accordance with European Standard EN 16941-2;
  • No odours;
  • Ease and comfort of operation and maintenance (automatic operation/minimisation of human intervention);
  • Low initial investment and operating costs;
  • Industrial design (state-of-the-art equipment);
  • No annoying noise;
  • Functional safety (hydraulic - sanitary).

The raw grey water is conveyed to an SBR-type biological reactor that operates using the activated sludge process at low load.

During the suction phase, the biologically treated effluent is sent to the accumulation tank with a useful capacity of approximately 50% of the daily volume produced as prescribed by EN 16941-2.

The treated water is pressurised into the secondary network (non-potable uses) and is subjected to centrifugal filtration (25 μm) and in-line UV disinfection, allowing it to be reused for non-potable uses such as flushing toilets, irrigation systems and/or washing floors.

Recycled water is controlled and managed by the ECODEPUR module® HYDROCYCLE®, This is a complete system that allows control and command of the water pressurisation system for reuse, including automatic switching of supply sources.
