ECODEPUR® SBR (Compacta WWTP) domestic wastewater treatment systems are characterised by the fact that biological/secondary treatment is carried out using the activated sludge process in an ECODEPUR® SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor).

The SBR typology is especially advantageous for small systems (< 3,000 equivalent inhabitants) since it effectively absorbs the disturbances introduced into secondary decantation by the high peak flows characteristic of small populations.

Biological/secondary treatment will be carried out using the activated sludge process in an ECODEPUR® SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor).

The activated sludge treatment process in a “Batch” system is mainly characterised by the fact that sludge aeration and decantation are carried out sequentially and cyclically in the same tank.

In addition, this system has the particularity of dispensing with the recirculation of biological sludge, since there is no loss of biomass in the aeration zone, unlike traditional continuous systems.

 

 

Biological start-up in SBR systems is extremely fast, since it does not depend on the effectiveness of sludge recirculation and can be achieved in less than a monthThe SBR typology is especially advantageous for small systems (< 3,000 inhabitants equivalent) since it effectively absorbs the disturbances introduced into secondary decantation by the high peak flows characteristic of small populations.

In order to avoid disturbances to the system as much as possible, decanting and discharging of treated water does not take place during peak flows.

In addition, the disturbance caused by affluent wastewater during the settling and discharge periods is practically nil, since these periods are regularised during periods of low flow.
